Location
The Heart of “Wydaho” Country
Enjoy the peace and quiet of the Tetons from the cozy comfort of a well-appointed cabin. We’re tucked in the aspens just north of Driggs, Idaho, a few hundred yards from the Wyoming state line, on the quieter west side of the Tetons. It’s an easy home base for Grand Teton and Yellowstone, and guests are often surprised how much they love the little towns of Driggs, Victor and Tetonia. Men’s Journal named Driggs “the best small town in America” in 2002. It’s still true today!

My wife and I absolutely loved this place. It was the perfect size for 2 people and close enough to comfortably drive to surrounding towns and national parks, but far enough to feel private and quiet. The cabin is in a nice and peaceful area.
Ginger was very kind, helpful, and responsive. We couldn’t recommend this place enough!
Cute, cozy cabin with great views of the mountains. Very quiet. Loved the cabin and the area.
Ginger and Jimmie were amazing ! They were very friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to help us out. We will
Stay again! The place is amazing and very relaxing!
We enjoyed staying at Ginger’s cabin a lot. It was very peaceful and comfortable. Convenient for our itinerary as we wanted to see a lot of national parks but still close enough to cute little towns that we could get groceries and have meals. Ginger’s recommendations on restaurants were spot on and we enjoyed Forage so much that we went back twice. We didn’t need anything while there which is always the sign of a great host! Ginger has everything set up wonderfully. Thank you!!
We loved staying at the cabin!! It was so relaxing and so peaceful! See the Tetons on the way back and each day coming back to the cabin is magical! The cabin is very cozy and comfortable!! The hosts are so hospitable and welcoming! We will definitely come back!
We loved every minute of our stay. I definitely want to come again. The charming cabin is beautifully located in the country complete with horses and wild flowers. The sound of the breeze blowing through the trees with the windows open was amazing. Such a peaceful and pleasant experience.
My wife and I loved our time at Colter Cabin during our honeymoon. Ginger and Jim were friendly and helpful, but also gave us our privacy. We loved the feel of the log cabin and almost wished we spent more time hanging out instead of sight-seeing.
The cabin is cozy and perfect for a small family. We enjoyed the indoor fireplace, grilling on the porch, and watching the horses in the adjacent property. The short drive over to Grand Tetons was reasonable, and going north to Yellowstone was also possible. The local town of Driggs provides all the groceries that you might need, not to mention just being an adorable spot to visit. Check out the rodeo at the local fairgrounds if visiting in the summer.
The Colter Cabin was amazing! It was exactly as described and the views were wonderful. We had a slight hiccup at first but Ginger was very easy to get a hold of, helpful, and professional, which allowed for a quick and easy resolution. We loved the fireplace, quick access to the Tetons, Yellowstone, and Craters of the Moon, and all of the amenities the cabin provided. I would definitely book the cabin again.
Cozy cabin with all the amenities. Cabin was clean and a great location for exploring yellowstone and the tetons.
We loved our stay at Ginger’s cabin! It was the perfect location for us to explore Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone!
Very clean, well equipped and had beautiful views of the mountains in the surrounding area! Would definitely stay again!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a wonderful stay at this Tetonia cabin. The property was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making it an excellent home base for exploring Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
What made this stay special was the peaceful setting. We loved spending mornings with coffee while taking in the views and evenings watching the sunset, listening to the wind in the trees, and enjoying the quiet surroundings. The nearby horses and abundant wildlife added to the experience and made us feel connected to the natural beauty of the area.
Our son Cannon especially enjoyed bonding with the horses, exploring the mountains and rivers, and spotting wildlife throughout the trip. The location offered the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience for day trips into both parks.
We made beautiful family’s vacation memories here. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already talking about returning someday. We highly recommend.
What a beautiful property!! If you want peace and quiet, surrounded by the beauty of nature; this is it! The cabin is so comfortable, homey and equipped with your every need. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well every night. The kitchen is amazing and fully stocked with everything needed to make nice meals or snacks. I especially appreciated all the spices and every tool that makes a meal come together. Communication was top notch! Ginger responded to every message quickly and gave such great recommendations. The rules and little notes are conveniently posted on a bulletin board in the stairwell. She also has little notes around the home to help. There are 2 furnished decks that are perfect and private thanks to all the beautiful trees. This was truly one of the best homes we have stayed in! Special thanks to Ginger and James for allowing is to enjoy their home!
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Thank you for your comments! It is always lovely when guests enjoy the cabin and have a comfortable stay. That’s the best kind of travel. Happy Trails wherever this summer leads you.
Beautiful area and lovely cabin. We had a wonderful time. There was supposed to be laundry soap and there wasn't (not the end of the world!) and the coffee pot had moldy coffee in it. Other than that, the cabin was clean and we were very happy with our stay. Highly recommend!
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Glad you had a good time. Thanks for the feedback, we had a fast turn around and we need to pay closer attention to these details! Will add them to the list for the cleaners... Happy Summer! Best, Ginger
Great place to stay! Host was extremely friendly and communicated very well
Absolutely the best host and best place to stay ever
Excellent, communicative host and a lovely place to stay in gorgeous surroundings.
Nothing fancy but a great spot to enjoy the Tetons and Yellowstone. Very private location with nice outdoor views.
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Thanks for letting us know! My husband has been working on it, new parts, new strainers... but he says now, knowing it has been in vain, he is done! Will get a new one next month. Happy Fall... Best, Ginger
Fantastic stay at the Colter Cabin. Beautiful property and cabin. We enjoyed the views, the coyotes passing by, breakfast on the outdoor grill, the fireplace and the comfortable bed. The quietness was awesome. Highly recommend.
Great location with spectacular views. The only draw back was there was no tv option and we had to use our own streaming passwords if we wanted to watch any thing. The remotes were very complicated to use. After a long day sightseeing or early in the morning it would have been nice to have tv. Unfortunately? Based on this, this rental would not be an option in the future.
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Glad you enjoyed the cabin. We offer, for free, a full range of all channels and shows. I think you did not realize YouTube TV has taken the place of cable and dish in providing all the major channels and hundreds more. I wish you had found the written instructions, or contacted me. You just click on YouTube. Next time!
Cute cabin, well equipped! Easy to find.
Very quiet area. Ginger was easy to communicate with.
Loved staying here! The cabin is in a beautiful space and it has many things to do like puzzles and games. There’s also tons of fun books, and art supplies which we used to paint landscapes in Teton National park. Loved it!
Our time spent at the Colter cabin felt surreal. The location, the ambiance and the quality of the cabin and furnishings were superb. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. We will be back!
Ginger's place was the perfect getaway for a couple. It was fairly close to both national parks (about 1:15 to GTNP and 1:30 to Yellowstone). The cabin was very cozy and well-maintained. Even though it was August, it got quite chilly at night, so the fireplace was the perfect way to cap a day of hiking through the parks. Ginger was communicative through the whole process. This place was great for us, would definitely recommend!
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Thanks for the feedback! So glad you got to use the fireplace - nothing like a real log fire in the evenings. Have a great fall...Best.
Amazing stay! The views from the balcony were great! All the surrounding towns were a pleasure to check out with great food! Would definitely like to come back!
Our stay was incredible. A great place in a such a beautiful area. I would definitely recommend that anyone looking to stay in the Teton Valley stays here.
A very beautiful setting. The location was about an hour from Jackson Hole but a very scenic drive thru Teton Pass.
This property was as advertised. The Colter Cabin was extremely clean and the location was outstanding. Views of the Teton Mountains were beautiful and the horses practically in the back yard were inspiring. Our stay was relaxing and a convenient hub for our planned activities. Exceeded our expectations!!
This Cabin was beautiful. Nestled in a very secluded area. Perfect for our vacation! I will definitely stay again if i go back!
My family and I had a wonderful stay! Beautiful area and close enough to day trip Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Jackson, Wyoming.
This was the highlight of our western trip! Such a cute cabin! Our favorite thing about it was the woods burning fireplace 😍
Beautiful Home
We stayed at this place as a go between Yellowstone and Grand Teton. We were up at the crack of dawn and home after dark but it was a great place to call home base. There was some necessary work being done / finished in the back of the property that most likely brought some ants into the home to get away from the water but as the week went on we saw less and less of them. This was a great house for our family of four.
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Glad you had a good time. Yes, we had just completed a new septic field. Also, we have hired a pest service to check everywhere.
We had the best time here, very secluded, private, and beautiful surroundings!
The place was very cozy. It is an old cabin, down a rural gravel road, with a cool history (it is not a high-end hotel with fancy amenities which makes it unique and comfortable.) I didn’t feel like I had to worry about the kids messing something up which was nice. The guestbook and recommendations were appreciated. It had everything listed plus some. There were lots of small household items for guests to use as well which was great. We even had an issue while there (no one’s fault) which we were able to get it taken care of right away with Ginger and the property manager’s help. The town was very enjoyable and easy to get to. It was a long drive to Tetons and Yellowstone but we highly recommend visiting the areas nearby just as much! We felt very safe, cozy, and relaxed.
This was a perfect vacation home for the area. Ginger and Jimmy were super attentive and accommodating of our needs. The cabin is outfitted well, clean and very comfortable. The property was serene, private and has outstanding views. We experienced a variety of local wildlife - truly amazing! Great proximity to Grand Tetons and Yellowstone parks. Plenty of opportunities for local outdoor activities, shops and dining in nearby Driggs. We will definitely be returning!
Place was in very nice condition, beautiful snowy views, not far from town, Ginger was very responsive.
Overall great stay.
The cabin was exceptional! A perfect combination of comfortable and rustic! We set the fire going every night and the wood provided was so nice! The view from the upstairs bedroom is gorgeous as well. With snow and ice, it took about 15 minutes to get to Driggs. Ginger was so friendly and helpful in giving us advice and tips for local places, and gave clear instructions for checkout. We will definitely want to visit again!
If you’re looking for a ranch style cozy cabin this is your place. My husband and I stayed in Colter cabin for our anniversary and absolutely loved it! The location is ideal for all winter and summer activities. Ginger is a wonderful host. So kind and easy to communicate with. The cabin is very well equipped with all the amenities you could possible need. We really enjoyed the fireplace everyday while play games and cooking our meals. We would highly recommend this home to anyone with a small family or couple. We can’t wait to back!
Colter Cabin was the perfect getaway spot for our mother-daughter vacation. Ginger was an excellent host who was very responsive and proactive about letting us know where to find local amenities and attractions. The cabin itself was immediately home for our 1 week stay and had all the amenities to cook, rest, wash up, and relax. We had an excellent stay and absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, off-the-beaten-path cabin getaway just an hour and a half from both Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks.
This was a great place! Ginger was a wonderful host! Beautiful country with the Grand Tetons in view. Would stay here again!
Beautiful cabin located in the quiet countryside.
We had a great time here. About an hour’s drive from Jackson and the Grand Tetons but we enjoyed every minute of the drive through Driggs, Victor, and the mountainside. We’d stay again!
Super charming cabin. Amazing views of the Tetons on your way there. Wake up to horses grazing in the pasture outside your window. Ginger was very helpful and responsive when I had questions. Highly recommend Colter Cabin & Ginger.
Perfect mountain getaway with beautiful views, an awesome fireplace with tons of firewood, and close to plenty of hiking trails. A must stay if around the Teton area
Tetonia get away
Lovely, authentic cabin with great views. 2nd stay here for us. Plenty to do on Idaho side too. Highly recommend
Serenity!
Lovely cabin was the perfect spot for our family get together to enjoy hiking and the beautiful outdoors. Well furnished and stocked, beautiful views, peacefully tucked away on 6 acres. Much better than all the tourist traps. We would definitely stay again!
What a wonderful cozy cabin! My family stayed in the cabin for 5 nights and had very little reason to leave. It is a lovely hideaway to spend time together. We absolutely loved it!
Cabin
Quiet location, close to grand Teton and Yellowstone... Ginger is a great host, very understanding.
Perfect landing pad to explore Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. Peaceful. We did not need a thing and the trout were biting
Perfect!
The cabin was absolutely perfect! It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had everything we needed plus more. Ginger is a wonderful host. Of course, the scenery was awe-inspiring! We felt very secluded surrounded by nature and wildlife but it was an easy fifteen minute drive to Driggs where we could find groceries, gas, and great restaurants. We loved it all!
Beautiful cabin nestled in the trees, we had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed visiting the nearby towns. Thanks ginger!
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Come back anytime!
Wonderful cabin
Excellent location and a charming log cabin. Would definitely stay here again! We had a wonderful vacation here.
Private cabin in Teton mountain area
The cabin is comfortable, airy, and spacious. Our family of 5 stayed but the property could have easily accommodated a larger family. The area is very private on a hill in the Teton mountain foothills and has forested areas on three sides, with an amazing view of mountains and a pasture valley on the fourth side. The cabin had all amenities provided. The grocery stores in Tetonia and Driggs are a few miles away, but it is a very easy drive to pick up supplies in the nearby towns. The entire area is less chaotic than Jackson and staying here was very relaxing. I highly recommend this property.
The property owner has the cabin super clean, fully stocked, and is easy to get a hold of if need be. Had an amazing time. Great location, traveled to Yellowstone, Teton Mountains, Jackson Hole, Big Sky Montana, Victor, and Driggs. All fairly easy to get to made this cabin a great location away from people and noise!
The cabin was just as pictured - beautiful, serene surroundings, stellar views. Everything we needed was there. Ginger gave great information about where to get any supplies we needed. The surrounding towns were cute and offered good restaurants. We would love to stay again!
Beautiful vistas, great vibes
This cabin was everything we’d hoped for, for our Yellowstone adventure. Located squarely between the park and Jackson Hole, we were able to travel to both for excursions. The cabin was spacious, homey, and well stocked. The views were breathtaking and the horses in the pasture next door were a lovely bonus. Highly recommend!
We loved our retreat at Ginger’s cabin. It’s located on a beautiful, quiet property with views of the mountains and nearby horses. The space is clean, cozy and has all of the amenities one needs. We appreciated the location to Driggs and Victor, and it was an easy trip to Grand Teton National Park and Jackson. Would love to return!
The Colter Cabin is an absolute gem offering the perfect amount of seclusion with the precise amount of access. Coziness combined with chiseled mountain decor immediately transports one to the regions pioneering past. The stunning sunset views complete with the occasional parade of wild horses will leave you ready to kiss goodbye too your current obligations.
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
You are a poet! Glad you enjoyed the cabin and area! Happy Trails wherever you are headed!
Wonderful Private Cabin
My son and I stayed 7 nights at this wonderful and private cabin flanked by pasture land and a view of the Grand Tetons. The cabin has amazing sunset views from both of the porches (one off of each bedroom). The porches overlook pastures with a dozen horses that graze and play throughout the day. We also saw a few deer on the property during the evenings. There is a family of foxes that lives in a woodpile down the road and come out around dusk. All the modern conveniences (KitchenAid appliances, pots/pans/etc, big TV w/ Apple TV, washer/dryer, and great water pressure - - which is nice after a long day exploring). Very private and down a well-maintained gravel road. It was 28 degrees the first two nights we were there and the big fireplace and ample seasoned wood delivered beautifully. (There's heat, too, but using the fireplace was way more fun!) Parking is simple (large gravel area in front of garage which is in front of the actual cabin) and check-in was a breeze. There are several hiking options in the area including some trails into the west side of the Tetons (trailheads about 15 minute drive from cabin). Grocery, dining, supplies are just a 15 minute drive away in Driggs. Wonderful stay and a great basecamp for Grand Teton adventures. With the Teton Pass out of commission, it was about 2 hours...but the drive is very scenic and the summer days are very long so there is plenty of time to head out to the Tetons in the morning and get back before dark! Wonderful!
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
So glad you had a good time! Thanks so much for the detailed review - always best when a guest shares all the special things we love about this cabin and the area. The Teton Pass is open now! Rest assured you saw the most beautiful areas in Idaho driving the (longer) road. Happy Summer!
Summer escape
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Almost everything we needed was readily available and the cabin was very clean. The property says 6 acres yet we had no idea where so no exploring was done on the property. The location was great for all the different places we traveled to visit. Lots of board games were available well as an Xbox for my teens. If you are not use to the dry air be sure to boil a pot of water.
I will say the hot and cold were opposite of most showers in the downstairs bathroom and a curtain over the door to the back bedroom would have been nice to have.
Great cabin
The only problem we had with our schedule vacation activities was the pass to Jackson was out and we had to make the 2.5 hr trip each way 9 times.
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
The Teton Pass road to Jackson will open on Friday... amazing 3 week repair by local teams working 24/7. Glad we talked and you found the beautiful alternate route through Swan Valley - a little longer, but sooo beautiful.
Little Peace of Heaven
Can't say enough about how peaceful this cabin is. We were able to travel to both Yellowstone and Tetons national Park. The road closure requires some extra drive time but the drive was absolutely beautiful. Both parks are stunning. That being said the best part of our stay was the evening sunsets on the porch at the cabin. The birds songs were the only music we needed along with the sound of the wind blowing through the trees which sounded like the ocean. The sunsets are God's masterpieces each night giving us a glimpse of heaven. I've never seen sunsets like the ones of the cabin before in my life. Another bonus was the bed was incredibly comfortable. The mattress was just perfect for my bad back. The owner could not be more responsive. She was very caring about everything regarding our stay.
Great Stay!
The cabin was fantastic! We loved the outdoor seating and enjoyed the views. It was quiet, relaxing and a great spot to stay while visiting the Tetons and Yellowstone. The kitchen is equipped with all you need and plenty of space available for our family of 5. Ginger was great at communicating all the info we needed.
We felt at home here. The scenery was beautiful and quiet. Plenty of room for our family of 5. We would stay here again!
The cabin was beautiful and exactly as described. We had a wonderful vacation, the location allowed us to spend time in Jackson, Tetons, and Yellowstone. azing cabin, great host!

Everything about this property from the advertisement, to booking, checking in and the complete stay was absolutely AMAZING! We would definitely recommend and visit again!

Glad you had a good time!
Colter Cabin, Tetonia
Very nice and secluded cabin with beautiful views. Close enough to local restaurants and grocery stores. Plenty of local places to hike and explore if you don’t feel like making a trip over the mountain pass to access the national parks. The cabin itself was clean, warm, and cozy. Would highly recommend.
Ginger’s cabin is fantastic — perfect location, thoughtfully decorated, well appointed, picturesque and cozy as all get out. It was the right amount of space for our family of four (two kids shared a room) in the winter, and I imagine it would feel even bigger with the porches and patios in use. A wonderful fireplace where we spent a great deal of time!
Great Cabin and location for a Couple's getaway or a small family.
Beautiful Area
We visited in the off season! The cabin was located in a great area. Everything was as described and the host was friendly and quick to respond to my questions.
Super quiet, very comfortable space! This cabin is located in a fantastic area, close to town, but far enough to be secluded and private. This cabin has character and a fantastic history.
Great view, great vibe, great place!!
Cabin in the woods
We had a very relaxing stay in Tetonia, Idaho and Colter Cabin played a big part in that…
We loved the history and details of the cabin and the overall vibe…
Time near the Tetons
Very nice accommodations near the Tetons! It was wonderful to come home after a long day hiking to relax in this lovely VRBO location. Everything we needed was provided. The water (from drinking to hot water for showers) was great….adding that cause I am kind of picky about water.
25th anniversary
Very nice cabin, nice area, only draw back is the busy road
Colter cabin - 5 stars!!
Amazingly well kept cabin and very clean. We’ll appointed! We will be back!!
Log cabin stay
Warm and relaxing with great countryside views. Only thing to make better would be a king size bed.
Ginger’s place was beautiful! We enjoyed our stay and she provided everything I could possibly need. It was a little far from Jackson, and Jackson Hole but the surrounding towns are adorable and we actually loved the towns.
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
So glad you enjoyed the cabin and area. Yes, we are one hour from Jackson. Driggs and Victor are our close towns... they are full of restaurants and lots of local color. We love this side of the mountain! We are 70 minutes to Grand Tetons and 90 minutes to Yellowstone. When the powder is good at Targhee, all the Jackson skiers come over here to ski! Happy Trails... wherever you are headed next...
Spacious Home- Great View
Thank you for a lovely stay at your home. We enjoyed the quiet location and watching the horses in the field. The place was clean and we found everything we needed while we were there. Thanks again!
A Haven Set Among Beauty
My husband and I were thrilled when we arrived at this wonderful cabin. It was just as pictured and described (do not look at the Google picture taken 15 years ago!). It was surrounded by gorgeous aspen trees and wild flowers. The front porch has a cozy place to sit so see the morning sun, or the rising moon. The back porch and upper balcony (off the master suite) overlook the textured pasture with the beautiful horses grazing and frolicking, and seating is provided. I liked talking to them and when I played my Dean Martin crooner music, they looked up and seemed to like it. The sunset was breath taking, and on the evenings we were home, we sat out there and gazed at the majesty. The instructions for the house were very helpful, and several "things to do" brochures were provided. The cabin was well supplied with linens, towels, and washcloths. It was nice to have a washer and dryer to do a couple of small loads so we could take clean clothes home. We highly recommend this enchanting cabin. Of course the fact that it is fairly close to Jackson Hole, The Grand Teton National Park, and Yellowstone, not to mention all there is to do closer to "home", just made it even better. It will be one of my "happy places" forever!
Response from Ginger & Jimmy

Thank you for a lovely stay at your home. We enjoyed the quiet location and watching the horses in the field. The place was clean and we found everything we needed while we were there. Thanks again!
cute cabin but no view
Well-equipped cabin nestled in the pines. Note that there is no view in the summer as was detailed in the description.
Perfect getaway !
Left the Arizona heat for Idaho's beautiful weather and the cabin's stunning sunsets. The week flew by with many local activities and fun memories.
Our stay with Ginger was absolutely magical the place was beautiful setting was serene worth every penny spent and made our trip memorable. I would highly recommend a stay with Ginger the setting is one of kind, your stay will comfortable in a home away from home like feeling. I can't say enough how our stay was an absolute compliment to the beautiful area of the world we visited.
1st time out west
Stayed here while visiting the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. The cabin was great! Clean, quiet, and had all the amenities we needed. The only problem was its location in regards to the parks. 1.5 hour drive to Yellowstone and 1 hour drive to Jackson and the Tetons.
tetonia
great stay! cabin stayed cool even on 90 degree days. host was very prompt with response times. location was great-just removed enough to have a nice get away but close enough to be able to do things easily.
host provided plenty of information about the surrounding area.
Peaceful Getaway
We had such a good time staying at the cabin! It was perfect for my husband our 2 boys and I. The cabin was clean and cozy. Just what we needed for the week. We love the location. Secluded and peaceful. I can’t wait to go back!
Nice cabin
It is a secluded very cute cabin! Things were well stocked. Sunset views over the ranch were awesome. There are 12-15 horses in the backyard (neighboring ranch) that are very fun to watch at all times of day! The drive to GTNP, Teton Village, and Jackson goes quick and is beautiful.
Colter Cabin will hold a special place in our hearts. It was prefect in every way! Ginger and Jimmy have a beautiful cabin and we are so thankful they opened up their home to us. Hope to be back soon!!
Minutes from Fun
The Cabin is in a great location, my family and I were able to enjoy Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park using the West Entrance, and Idaho Falls while staying here. The cabin made our trip so much better.
Teton getaway
Nice old school cabin, about an hour from Jackson. Secluded, pretty.
Cozy cottage
Great little place to get away!
Truly outstanding property!
This is a one-of-a-kind property bear beautiful Driggs, Idaho. If you are skiing at Grand Targhee this is the perfect spot to be within 30 minutes of the resort, but in a very private setting.
Ginger, the host, was great. Kitchen is perfectly stocked, bathrooms are great and the cabin is amazing!
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Glad you enjoyed your stay... log cabins are wonderful and the snow this year was truly epic!
Serenity Now!!
This cabin should be named Serenity Now!! It was the most PEACEFUL, quiet, and beautiful place I have ever stayed. Nestled on many acres of farm-land with a view of the Tetons and Mountains all around, this was a dream! If you want peace, tranquility, and to get away from it all with a ton of outdoor adventure close by then this is THE PLACE!
30th Anniversary vacation
This was a great place for us. We were very busy every day, trying to fit in all of the great sights & things we did. From side by side O.R.V. through the Targhee forest & mountains to horse back ridding through the mountains & fly fishing down the Snake river. We enjoyed ever bit of our stay! Thanks so much for this great Cabin.
Great Home Base for exploring Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks
The cabin was located outside of the town of Driggs, ID. The cabin is beautiful and was great for our family of 4. The cabin is well stocked with anything you will need. The town of Driggs has some great restaurants, a brewery and distillery that we enjoyed. We made a trip to Yellowstone National Park (approx. 1 1/2 hours away) and made a few trips to Jackson (approx 45 minutes away). There are a number of hiking trails accessible from the west side of the Teton range that we explored. Ginger was great in her communication and made herself available if we encountered any issues. We had none but I am sure her responses would have been quick.
great place for tranquility and relaxation
loved our stay. great little cabin in a beautiful rural setting.
great place to relax, read a book and enjoy the beauty and weather. quite close to town for meals and exploring. Ginger is the best!
Lovely location
Great space for 2 couples. Great location for hiking, fishing & biking.
Was a beautiful place to stay!!
My SO and I were touring the area and loved it. There is so much to see and do. The cabin was very nice and would definitely stay there again!
Thank you!!
Beautiful Location
Location is scenic and secluded with lovely sunsets. Room descriptions in listing are not correct. Bedroom 1 is a queen (upstairs), "Bedroom 2" is a queen (upstairs--in quotes because it is a loft open to main level not really a room), Bedroom 3 has two twins (main level), Bedroom4/Office has one twin (main level).
Prettier than pictures show.
The picture on VRBO did not do the property justice! The material left giving info about the cabin & surrounding area were excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful retreat.
Beautiful home perfectly situated in the trees and remarkable privacy. Convenient and close to everything. We will definitely return.
Cabin near Yellowstone
Excellent vacation cabin. Very well furnished. Hosts were open, friendly and responsive. Highly recommend rental of this cabin from Ginger.
Peaceful cabin getaway
We had a great family mtn bike trip at Grand Targhee and loved coming home to this sweet cabin in the aspens. Ginger and Jim were great hosts and full of good recommendations.

The colter cabin is just beautiful . The wood work and special touches are perfect . You have everything you will need for your stay . The view from the den and the master bedroom are so beautiful . Sunsets are amazing and it’s so inviting to just sit and watch the sunset with a nice glass of wine . You are close to the grocery store and easily accessible to Jackson Hole , Teton National Park and west Yellowstone ( a little bit of a ride but beautiful) we will definitely make our way back here. Thank you for sharing your home 😊
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
So glad you enjoyed your stay. We like to share this special place and cabin - rustic and comfortable!
Perfect Get Away
The cabin is everything you could hope for and more. So cozy and spacious. Comfy chairs everywhere. Two balconies with gorgeous views of sunsets, mountains, and beautiful horses. We already want to go back!
Incredible location
It was even more beautiful of a location than the pictures can capture. It was such a sweet time together as a family. This home had such warmth and was a perfect hub for hitting trails, enjoying a few of the towns in the area, and being immersed in the Tetons. Thank you for opening your home to us - so many great memories were made! We hope to get back again one day.
Great location and very comfortable.
Very easy check in and check out.
Great place! Cabin is even better in person.
Amazing!
Great location and amazing cabin!
We absolutely loved our stay at Colter Cabin. This was our honeymoon and we loved every minute of it. The cabin was so homey and we loved having a fire every night before bed. So close to the Tetons and some local hiking! The location was perfect. I could go on and on about this listing but it was PERFECT!
I didn't want to leave
Property was perfect. Planning on returning. One morning, it was cool and raining. I slept until 10:45 am. I can't recall the last time I slept that late, without being sick. Close to Driggs, but not to close.
Fantastic Cabin
This is in a very nice secluded spot. The cabin is homey, and has everything you need. The owner was very responsive and answered all questions prior and during our stay. Will not hesitate to stay here again, when in the area. Thank you for such a wonderful place.
Very Nice Cabin
Secluded cabin close to town with a great grocery store and amenities. An hour from Jackson and two hours from Yellowstone made for a great location. Comfortable home with everything my family needed.
Spectacular Place!
Even better than the pictures! Loved the cabin & the proximity to Grand Teton National Park. Very well stocked with everything we needed.
Great location and very private
Very satisfied could use more comfortable chairs in front of tv
Honeymoon Getaway
My husband and I stayed at Colter Cabin while on our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! We loved the solitude of being out in ranch country. We were able to easily access the Jackson Hole area, Yellowstone (west entrance), Targhee National Forest and Grand Teton National Park. The cabin is clean, beautifully appointed and stocked with anything you should need for an unforgettable stay.
Beautiful cabin in the woods
This is a beautiful cabin in the woods next to a horse ranch. There where beautiful views of the mountains and endless night sky. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Loved our stay.
Perfect family vacation
Beautiful property to base a Teton and Yellowstone NP vacation. Great amenities and local communities have everything you need.
The perfect quite cabin
Beautiful clean, comfortable, very private and well stocked.
Could not ask for better communication with the owners.
This ranks as among the very best cabin we have ever rented.
I would stay in this cabin again anytime we needed lodging and a bonus was that two deer walked by the den window the last morning we were there.
Sunsets on the back deck were spectacular!
Thank you for allowing us to be your guests.
Sincerely,
The Banks's and Trotters.
West side of the Tetons
Beautiful property
Fantastic area
Rental process was simple and easy

Good Place to work
It was a great place to have virtual work meetings and relax from visiting Yellowstone/Grand Teton. Wifi allowed 2 virtual meetings at once.
Generally, questions were responded to quickly. I learned that Apple TV and Apple+ were two different things!
We would stay again.

Lovely Stay
Coulter Cabin was clean, comfortable and well decorated. The owners were very responsive and helpful, the location was quiet but also close to hiking, restaurants and shopping. Only about 50 minutes to Jackson, WY and 90 minutes to West Yellowstone. We loved the horses in the neighboring pasture, the decks off the living room and bedroom, and the views of the Tetons. Tetonia was a fun little town with a nice cafe and a cool local bar. Everything we were looking for! Would highly recommend.
Loved our stay!
Great place to stay on the back side of the Tetons and wanted to stay longer. Was hazy from the California smoke but cleared to give us a really great view. The cabin was beautiful and perfect for us! And watching the horses morning and evening was so nice. The stars were amazing. Highly recommend Harriman state park, Mesa Falls and the scenic drive south to Palisades Reservoir and (not the real) Grand Canyon. Thank you. It was really wonderful.
Absolutely Wonderful!!!
This was the most amazing trip for us! Colter Cabin made it all the more special. The views from the cabin are amazing. Our hosts had everything we needed. We cannot wait to go back!
perfect location, spent time in Teton Nat Park as well as Yellowstone.
Beautiful, quiet, and perfect in a beautiful grove of Aspen. The home was well supplied and nicely laid out. There were many helps as well as a can of bear spray! We enjoyed the fireplace on the cool mornings. Wonderful experience, hope we can come back.
Cozy Getaway
We had such a great time at the cabin and would love to come back again. It was so peaceful and it wasn't a far drive to Jackson Hole or the other local towns. We had a great time coming back and sitting on the porch watching all the horse in the field. The sunsets were fantastic.
FYI - the previous reviewer couldn't see the Tetons from the cabin due to the smoke cover caused by the fires out west.
Honeymoon stay
Exactly what we hoped for.
Quiet, and a little secluded.
We hope to come back.
Nice private cabin
Overall, we enjoyed staying at the propriety surrounded by trees and it’s about 50 min to 1hr to Jackson. The cabin is pretty and we enjoyed the privacy we had. One thing that we did not like was the 15 items check out instructions including “wipe down the counters” “start dishwasher,” and “take out the trash to the trash cans at the end of the street” (could not really see any). It just does not justify the steep cleaning fee that we paid for a 3 day stay. We are always respectful of people’s proprieties (we are owners ourselves) and leave a clean place but 15 items check out instructions are a little much for people who just want to enjoy vacation.
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Glad you enjoyed the cabin and thanks for the help cleaning. We only charge our guests half the actual cleaning fee, yes, cleaning in these times of covid is expensive. It takes 4 hours just to do all the laundry sheets and towels. Happy Fall!!! Stay longer next time!
Great place
Beautiful property - just as advertised. Great check in and check out process.
Great access to Teton Valley and Idaho side of the Teton mountain range
Ample space in this cute cabin located down a dirt road. Plenty of linens and so forth. There's a great back road into Driggs and to Targhee. Highly recommend for access! It rained quite a lot while we were there, but the two decks would be great in good weather. Ginger is a kind and caring host.

Great place in Tetons !
Great get away in the Tetons! Wonderful, peaceful. Great hosts. Everything well organized …we will come back!
Nice Teton Getaway
The property was very well stocked and clean. It was a beautiful setting for a nice relaxing long weekend in the Tetons. Especially appreciate the well stocked kitchen and use of the gas grill.
great place to get away
We hiked the Grand Tetons, and found it a 1-1/2 to 2 hour drive to the traiheads. We were all delighted with the beautifully built house, the setting, and all the many, many amenities. The larger upstairs beds were very comfortable; the 3 twin beds downstairs were too soft, probably ok for kids. Although we threw most kitchen scraps in the trash because disposals clog easily, it clogged and there was no disposal wrench to get it running again. Advise you not to use it at all or bring a wrench.
Fly fishing trip
This house was in a quiet neighborhood near the Teton’s. The house was clean and was stocked with everything you might possibly need. The home would be perfect for a family as well as friends!
Honeymoon
The property was beautiful and peaceful. It was the perfect space for us to rest after each day's adventures.
Everything We Hoped For!
We booked this home almost a year ago to be close to Yellowstone and Jackson for our family vacation. What we didn’t expect was how much we would love this home and the towns close by. The cabin had everything we needed plus more for a week long stay. We enjoyed our day trips and came home to relax on the porch and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Ginger was awesome in answering our questions. Highly recommend Horseshoe Cabin!
Far West
Idaho is one of my faves, and we enjoyed being in horse country with views of pastureland, horses, and an occcasional deer. We expected a view of the Tetons as indicated in the listing's photos, and that was not the case, but within a short distance up the dirt road there were wonderful mountain views. Lots of recreational vehicles as well as horseback riding available.
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Glad you liked the cabin. Sorry you missed the view of the Tetons... maybe the skies were not clear. You can see the Grand Teton just a bit from the front porch. Next time! Ginger

Wydaho
We had a great time!
Slice of Heaven
This gorgeous cabin tucked in a corner of Idaho and Wyoming’s most picturesque farms was even better than we’d hoped for and larger than we’d imagined. I couldn’t help but “eek” with happiness as we pulled down the gravel drive and walked down the pathway of native grasses and wildflowers. The breeze blew each night, making the aspen leaves swish and sparkle. The rooms were comfortable. I cooked every night, which was a great added bonus to make us feel cozy and home. I would 10/10 book this again. Great memories made. I can’t thank the owners enough for their hospitality.
Cozy Cabin Stay
We loved everything about the cabin. The cabin exceeded the photos on line, it is just beautiful. We especially enjoyed the isolation and quiet, the views from both the front and back are lovely. We also enjoyed watching the horses in the pasture next to the cabin. We especially enjoyed the upstairs balcony watching the sunsets in the evening. Our only disappointment was the condition of the grill. We had hoped to grill steaks but it was so dirty we didn't use it. The kitchen is more than ample and stocked with anything you could possibly want for cooking. Also a generous supply of paper goods, towels, etc., we didn't worry about running out. The washer and dryer are small of course but plenty big enough for our needs. We hope to come again!!!!!!
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
So glad you had a nice time. So sorry about the grill!! We also love to grill outside. I have a new cleaning crew, and I bet I forgot to put it on their list. From now on it will be clean!
Great Stay!
Secluded location as described. The entire family had a great time.

Quiet Getaway
The cabin is secluded which offers some peace and quiet, which we loved coming from a big city. We used it as homebase while we did some vacation activities between Grand Teton and nearby cities in Idaho. It was well stocked with supplies we needed and plenty of room for the kids to spread out. We enjoyed our stay!
Time to Get Away
The Colter Cabin was a fantastic “get away spot” for my wife and I. It was a beautiful cabin that was on a quiet road away from a lot of people. There only traffic was farm and ranch traffic and we hardly noticed. The views were great. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the upstairs balcony and watching the sunsets. Just a great cabin for us!!!
Peaceful!
I’m really glad we chose this property. I love peacefulness and this place was it. We did quite a few hikes east of the Tetons and a few right in the Tetons. It’s a bit of a drive but worth it.
Everything on hand!
Property was excellent location. Secluded and quiet. There were plenty of towels, cookware, spices, etc. Very clean and was nice to have Apple TV and streaming capability.
Cabin in an aspen grove
This cozy cabin is so comfortable, with its upstairs loft bedroom/bath and the downstairs kitchen, living room, bedroom/TV room. It feels very secluded and quiet, surrounded by aspens. The
bedroom upstairs has a lovely western pasture view. The two decks provide a great place to watch the sun set. This is a great find!
Mostly Quiet, hidden in the trees.
Well supplied home, moderate drive to Jackson, Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. Owner was very quick to respond to any questions. Off main road, Nestled in an aspen grove with a nice view of some surrounding mountains. We enjoyed our stay!
Sweet cabin with Seclusion
Beautiful cabin with great valley and Views of the Grand Tetons. Close to Jackson Hole Wyoming.
We enjoyed Driggs for Restaurants.
Cabin is beautiful and we made new memories. Beautiful sunsets out the back of the cabin.
Cute Cabin, Super Cozy
This was a great getaway. It was a good point to check out the tetons and yellowstone!

Loved this place ..perfect place to relax
Quaint Cabin
Wonderful cabin with all the amenities you could need.
Cute Cabin, Super Cozy
This was a great getaway. It was a good point to check out the tetons and yellowstone!
Cozy Cabin
Absolutely loved this place. There was about 3-4 of snow all around. It was super quiet and tranquil. The road was well maintained/plowed. Well furnished with chopped wood ready to go. With or without the stove the cabin was plenty warm. We mainly used it for drying our gear out after a hard day of work on the slopes. Had to check in on work one day and the internet was lightening fast (WIFI-6). Would love to come back in summer.
Wonderful Stay
We had a great time at this cabin. It was clean, spacious, and had a great fireplace! It was cozy and comfortable and in a great location-beautiful view of the Tetons, and only a bit over an hour drive to get to Grand Teton National Park! The closet town, Driggs, is adorable and has everything you need. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to come back in the Summer time!
Everything was awesome!
Perfect stay no problems at all !
Loved it!
Had a wonderful stay - Jim and Ginger were great hosts, open and easy to communicate with. The Teton Valley is magical and the property allows you to experience it to the fullest extent. Highly recommend this for families.
Dreamy location
Ginger was responsive and wonderful. The home was very well stocked and the location was wonderful.
Peaceful Getaway
My parents and I wanted a nice getaway from everything. The Colter Cabin was everything we hoped for and more. It's located just outside of town and surrounded by wide open space, beautiful views of mountains in the distance, and a pasture of very friendly horses.
We stumbled across this cabin and right away this looked exactly like what we were looking for. It was reasonable priced, extremely clean, and perfectly peaceful. The owners were wonderful and answered any questions we had. It is noticeable that they have thoughtfully planned for this cabin to be a nice place for guests to stay.
We were able to go to Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Teton Nation Park while we were there. It was a bit of a drive, but we knew we wanted to be out of the hustle and bustle, so we didn't mind at all. We would highly recommend staying at the Colter Cabin.
5 star
Wonderful!!!
Peaceful and cozy
Great cabin in a peaceful setting. Loved relaxing on the porch after a day of exploring.
The Perfect Getaway
Beautiful, cozy cabin that exceeded all expectations! After each days’ adventures, we looked forward to a relaxing evening by the fire. It was everything we hoped for and more!
Beautiful
Wonderful stay with beautiful views
Will be back for sure!
The property is exactly as described and very comfortable. Ginger was very responsive and willing to make adjustments to extend our stay as we didn’t want to leave! Would definitely recommend!
Our true second home
This is our second trip to Colter Cabin and we intend to continue to return as often as possible!
A little piece of paradise
I would highly recommend this cabin. Clean, comfortable, private and relaxing. What more can you ask for. My wife and I loved the small towns of Driggs and Victor so close to the cabin. Great place, just wish we could have staved longer! Thank you Ginger and Jim for letting us enjoy your cabin.
Lovely Cabin!
We had a terrific time at Colter Cabin. Everything was as advertised, and communication with the owner was prompt and helpful. The cabin itself was cute and comfortable. The setting was very quiet and peaceful. We were in the area primarily to hike. The cabin is located on the west side of Grand Teton NP. We drove one day to the east side of Grand Teton NP, but also found some great hiking on the west side, much closer to the cabin (Jedediah Wilderness, the Alaska Basin Trail was great).
Overall, a great experience!
Weekend stay!
Our stay was lovely! The views were amazing and the little towns were great!!
Peaceful Getaway
This cabin experience was so wonderful and unique. We are a small family of three and it was perfect for us. We really enjoyed the beautiful view every morning, the company of the neighbor’s horses, and enjoyed the hiking trails nearby. It was a great location for accessing Teton National Park. The cabin was beautifully decorated in warm, inviting colors and textiles. The fireplace was such a nice feature to have for the cool summer evenings. We brought a small Berkey water filter in order to filter the well water, and it worked out great. The kitchen was very nice, and had what we needed. We recommend!
Colter cabin
We had a wonderful week at Colter cabin. It had all the serenity and beauty anyone could hope for. Highly recommend!!
Beautiful Cabin!!!
We enjoyed the gorgeous views of the horses grazing right by the back porch and the close by Tetons! No, communication was necessary with the owners since they left us all the info we needed to enjoy our stay and the peace and quiet. A little far from YNP, but the ride through the Idaho countryside was worth the drive.
Nice Cabin!
Beautiful log cabin, fully
furnished. Owners answered our questions quickly. Nice appliances and big TV with Apple TV which was nice. Town of Driggs had a nice grocery store and good restaurants. One fun trip no one mentioned in other reviews is a short drive to the Grand Targhee ski area, you can take the chair lift to the top of the mountain in the summer. Fun area, beautiful cabin, friendly and helpful
owners: highly recommended!
The perfect get
This was the spot we chose for our honeymoon and we simply could not have made a better choice! We will be back.
Perfect!
We needed some quiet time. This getaway was perfect for what we were looking for.
Awesome! Wow!
This was a great place to stay. So authentic. Just felt like home. Great location with beautiful views. We made this cabin hub and traveled to Yellowstone Park, Grand Teton Park, Jackson, WY. Made for a little bit of a drive, but was well worth it seeing the scenery of Teton Valley on Idaho side and the mountains, of course! If you are looking for a relaxing place, this cabin is it. (Though we were gone all day, every day we were here!) I hope some day to visit again! Thanks, Ginger for letting us stay at your cabin!
Spectacular
We had such a wonderful times. Gorgeous little cabin amongst Aspen trees.
Colter cabin
We really enjoyed our stay last week. Ginger was very helpful and gave great recommendations of places to go and things to do. Thanks
Tranquility
What an amazing cabin. We didn’t want to leave. The location of this wonderful place is ideal for being off the beaten path, but still close to everything.
On the drive in there is an awesome view of the Grand Tetons. Never got old.
The cabin itself was very clean, which is a must for us. It was quiet and peaceful. The only sounds were that of the aspens blowing in the wind. We were able to leave the doors open most of the time as they were screened in.
Can’t recommend this cabin enough! It was perfect for the two of us and I hope to return again.
Wonderful Stay in Tetonia
We very much enjoyed our stay at the log cabin in Tetonia! The home is in a beautiful area, surrounded by mountains and gorgeous views. We loved being close to Driggs, but being off the beaten path. The cabin was clean, comfortable and cute inside and out. It was perfect for our little family. We would highly recommend staying here to anyone.
AN AMAZING & BEAUTIFUL GET AWAY PLACE!!!
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful and fabulous cabin in Tetonia- I would give 10 stars if I could! Ginger took great care of us before and during our stay at their place. She was really attentive and great to us! The cabin was so fun to stay at - it was like staying at a five star hotel, but without all the people. The view of the Tetons was breathtaking, sunrise & sunsets were priceless!! We booked this for our wedding anniversary get away and rode our bikes all around Driggs, Victor, Grand Targhee, Jackson Hole & the Grand Tetons. Dinners in Driggs & Victor were awesome! We loved everything about our stay and want to go back again next year to celebrate again!! You will not be disappointed if you stay here....I promise it feels and looks like it’s a little bit of heaven on earth 💙
Tidy Little Log Cabin
This little log cabin is a great place for a couple or a small family. The location provides a gateway to Grand Teton Park, Yellowstone Park, and many other activities in Teton Valley. Although we only slept there (we live nearby and gave up our bed to our son and friends who came from Eastern cities for a ski trip), we found the accommodations to be very comfortable. This cabin has history in the area and is very unique. People will enjoy the antiques that decorate this place. I imagine that it would be really nice in the summer. Right now there is a huge amount of snow everywhere (record snowfall this year). Don't hesitate to rent this place. The only (slight) drawback is bringing in your own bottled water for drinking and cooking.
Amazing, rustic, well appointed, secluded place
Really one of a kind location and house - real log cabin with all the amenities of a modern home, right in the middle of a wonderful country side overlooking a meadow with grazing horses (yes...). Best food (including the best restaurant in Idaho) right next door at Driggs. If you want to fully experience Yellowstone/Titans, this cabin is exactly made to complete the experience. Highly recommended!
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
You were lucky! Horses are in the field in August -October... eating the leftover hay after the second haying!
Great
Only issue are the mosquitoes but everything else was perfect
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Every window has screens... be sure they are closed when you open the windows next time. We really don't have mosquitos at this altitude... maybe you let some flies in? Glad you had a nice visit!
Comfortable, secluded, away from it all.
Lovely little cabin. Just right for relaxing and using as home base. Nicely furnished and everything we needed. Good tv service for sporting events (which did interest us on football Sunday). Hope go again when there is ❄️ snow.
Stayed September 3rd through 6th
My husband and I were in the area to explore Yellowstone & GTNP. The cabin was just off a gravel road, but it seemed like we were miles from anyone. It was nice to be able to come home after a day of exploring to use the gas grill and fix our meals. The bed was comfortable and the cabin was adequately stocked. It was nice to have my coffee on the back deck in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. One evening at dusk we drove up and there was a moose in the field behind the cabin! I wasn’t able to get a really good picture of it, but you can tell it is a moose in the picture . 😊 We didn’t see any bear at the cabin or during our visit to Yellowstone or GTNP and I was bummed about that. Other than that we had a great time and would highly recommend it! Thanks for sharing your cabin Ginger! Christy Phillips
What a fun place to stay!
We absolutely loved staying at Jim and Gingers cabin. What nice people they are and very helpful. Their cabin is a great place to retreat to and not but an hour and fifteen minutes to the Grand Tetons. Beds were very comfortable and the views from the balconies were beautiful. The cabin was sooo clean and had everything we needed. The town of Driggs has a good grocery store, coffee shop and places to eat. We enjoyed everything! Thank you so much!
We had a good feeling the minute we opened the door
A cute cabin with all the modern conveniences. I would recommend 100%
Plenty to do, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons & several golf courses in the area.
Beautiful part of the country.
Quaint
We enjoyed our stay. It was cozy and secluded.
Westward-Ho vacation - peaceful escape
The cabin was lovely. It was comfortable and a perfect escape/retreat from reality. A day trip from Yellowstone's west entrance; we also enjoyed the small town of Victor as well as just hanging at the cabin reading. We enjoyed our four night stay and would gladly do it again. Thanks to Ginger and Jim for sharing their special place 😀
As Advertised!
This cabin is Beautiful - private - lovely, accessible to lots of interesting areas in Idaho and Wyoming.
Truly a gem!!
This cabin offers the best of all worlds: secluded (for those wanting to avoid the crush of tourists at busier spots) AND conveniently located (less than an hour's drive to the Grand Teton National Park) with all amenities provided. The cabin was super clean and comfortable. Hosts Ginger and Jim were incredibly attentive to all details when setting up this lovely cabin, and made themselves available if we had any questions or concerns at all (we didn't; they'd thought of everything!) From the cabin's two balconies, you just see miles of open land and sunsets on the horizon. The town of Driggs is about ten minutes from the door -- we tried the excellent pizza on the rooftop patio at Tatanka Tavern, the duck at Teton Thai, and as many breakfast items as we could at Rise CoffeeShop where we stopped each morning before our hiking adventures. Loved loved loved our stay!
Coulter cabin is in the perfect location to tour both Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks.
Peaceful location. Furnishings were comfortable and we'll stocked for cooking. Would recommend better lighting in both the kitchen and stairway going up to Master bedroom. Very dimmly lit.
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Thanks and glad you had a good time. I bet you didn't notice the dimmer switches by the lights, and I bet they were turned down. Those lights get very bright. Next time! Ginger
Quiet retreat
I stayed at Ginger's cabin with my sister and brother-in-law in June and we were very content and comfortable. After a day of sightseeing in the area, we were happy to return to a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The surroundings were beautiful - a wide, green valley surrounded by distant mountains and not another tourist in sight! Driggs was nearby and offered many amenities including a good grocery. This location offers access to the West Yellowstone entrance and Grand Teton Nation Park.
Absolutely wonderful experience
The attention to detail from the decor to the layout was stunning and the views amazing! We will be back!
great spot and comfortable cabin!
The owner thought of everything, and the cabin was very well-appointed. You will need bottled water for drinking (because the well water definitely has an odor to it), but otherwise I cannot think of anything we needed. Kids loved being in a cabin, and the upstairs master suite was quite comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate to return!
Wonderful cabin feel with high tech capability
The Colter Cabin makes you feel like you've stepped back in time while you surf the internet on the extremely fast Wi-Fi or watch Apple TV on the large HD television.
The hosts are friendly, prompt, and provide many informational resources at the cabin to learn about and enjoy the area.
We truly enjoyed our stay!
This house was exceptional and felt like home!
The views were extraordinarily breathtaking! This cabin is a must stay.
Pleasantly surprised
My husband and I stayed at Colter Cabin last week for four nights. We also stayed at another cabin in Gardiner, MT at the end of the week. I have to admit we were originally more excited to stay at the other cabin but it turned out we liked Colter Cabin more. The pictures really don't do it justice. The cabin is very clean, well stocked and more than enough room for the two of us. The setting is very quiet and tranquil and the views are amazing. It's a 10 minute drive to the town of Driggs where we ate all of our meals and did some grocery shopping. It's also about an hour drive to Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park. The drive was spectacular. I can't even find the words to describe how beautiful it was. We travel a lot and this is one of our favorite rentals. Ginger was very responsive and easy to work with. She even returned my security deposited in under a week after we left. I highly recommend this cabin.
Wonderful!!
Very comfy cabin! Will return again!!
Wonderful cabin, peaceful area!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colter Cabin. It a wonderful, comfortable, classic log cabin with all the amenities of home. The area is peaceful and beautiful. I highly recommend the Colter Cabin for your holiday stay in Teton Valley or the Grand Teton National Park!
Lovely, relaxed stay in well equipped cabin at the edge of the woods.
As previously noted Ginger is wonderful to work with and so helpful. The cabin's kitchen is well equipped for cooking almost anything. The way the cabin is designed there are really two separate areas so two families or couples could vacation there or parents can be separated from kids. The west side of the Tetons is gorgeous and great for hiking (we did not do any water sports as we came for the eclipse) and the ski resort looks fabulous (Targhee). And the eclipse was spectacular!!!
Fantastic cabin amongst some of the best hiking in the area
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. Great location near lots of great hikes and adventures. Cabin was spotless and had a great private feel. Would highly recommend.
Amazing cabin!
Near enough to Jackson and Grand Teton park, but without the high Jackson prices. Secluded, beautiful cabin with TONS of amenities. The kitchen has more great gadgets than I have at home. The decor is adorable and the beds are comfortable. Plenty of storage for a family. Great game closet for rainy days. Not too far from Tetonia restaurants/groceries. The hosts have thought of and provided for everything. A definite win.
Perfect cabin in Prime location!
fabulous cabin with perfect location. We loved the beautiful cozy cabin and can't wait to return!!!
Isolation Therapy 🙂
Peaceful perfection just about sums it up. We loved coffee on the upper deck every morning and having a quiet comfortable place to relax after all of our adventures. We marveled at the construction of the cabin and all of the attention to detail.
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
So nice to hear you enjoyed the cabin. We just hired the best crew from Jackson to rethink and seal all the big handhewn logs. And added a nice coat of gloss. We treat the cabin like a finely made wood jewel box! Sometimes from the upper deck you can see all the way to Sun Valley...
Very nice cabin!
It was perfect for my wife and I. We had a short stay but the cabin was very nice. If we ever make it back to Idaho we will be staying here again.
Home Away From
We were very privilieged to call this property our home for almost two full weeks! What a blessing it was for us and we felt the price was extremely reasonable and the owners fantastic to work with. While it is a bit of a drive into the national parks, it wasn't overwhelming and truthfully, it caused us to slow down and see the incredible mountains, rivers, lakes, trees, deer, etc. that we may have missed had we been closer. You won't be sorry if you stay here and the added bonus is that the city of Driggs is a fantastic town as well.
Cabin in the woods
Perfect summer getaway. Peaceful and quiet. Beautiful view over verdant fields of Teton Valley to Big Holes. Cabin has everything one needs. Very clean and well appointed. Ginger was very responsive and helpful. Lots to do: hike, bike, golf and get out on Teton River to relax and enjoy wildlife. We will be back. Like to check it out in the winter too!
We have stayed at Ginger's cabin many times and we have always enjoyed our time there.
this cabin is isolated but close to town and many great adventures. The cabin has everything you need and is very comfortable and roomy. We met friends from Utah there and they loved it also. We highly recommend Ginger's cabin.
Lovely secluded cabin in the Aspens
Very private, secluded cabin. Lovely setting. Well equipped kitchen. I would have preferred a bit more light in kitchen. Very comfortable beds with quilts. The back deck was wonderful in all the beautiful Aspens. It was very clean and neat and was just what we were looking for. I would definitely recommend this cabin to friends.
Response from Ginger & Jimmy
Oh gosh, so sorry... I bet the dimmer was turned down on the kitchen lights. There is a tiny little button that slides up and down on the light switch for the kitchen lights... bet the housekeeper cleaned the switch and pushed it to the "dim" position! All our light switches have these tiny dimmer buttons just to the side of the switch!
Beautiful views!
Cabin is very updated with awesome top of the line appliances. It was very clean and perfect size for couple getaway! Would love to have one just like this!
Beautiful Cabin in Beautiful Setting
Our stay at the cabin was great! The views and sunsets are amazing. Very remote and private. Did some throwback gaming on the original Xbox. Would definitely stay here again!
The most picturesque and lovely place we've ever stayed.
From our first view of Colter Cabin we were smitten! It looks fantastic, is in a beautiful, peaceful location and has everything you need and more. It is cosy, unique, well equipped (best equipped kitchen of anywhere we've ever stayed), comfortable and a home away from home. We wanted somewhere peaceful but within reasonable travelling distance to the Grand Teton national park and Colter Cabin certainly fit the bill. We actually came to the area to elope so we wanted somewhere special and this certainly delivered.
A special thanks as well to Ginger who was quick and helpful with communication and was also happy for us to have wedding pictures taken at the property. They turned out fantastically and even the photographer was very taken with the cabin.
We were very sad when it came to leaving but have both agreed we will return!
We'll be back!
We couldn't have asked for a better home base for our recent Idaho fly fishing trip. Everything was perfect from the well stocked kitchen to the sleeping arrangements. Loved unwinding on the rear deck after a day of fishing Henry's Fork. Don't miss checking out the little booklet with restaurant recommendations.....the Tai restaurant in Driggs is a great choice. Gonna try to make this trip an annual event
Great mountain area retreat!
This property is great. Quiet, comfortable, and clean. The owners do a great job making you comfortable and taking care of you. The location is perfect - in the woods away from it all with great views of the mountains while being 10-15 minutes away from downtown Driggs.
Gorgeous, quiet, unique
This house is amazing. The whole family had a wonderful time and we would have loved to spend more time there. There are so many unique things and decorations and it feels like a home that is very loved. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the dining area especially for breakfast.
The front and back porch of the house are great places to hang out and we spent some good time reading and playing games. We were also very thankful for the many tips and ideas for what to do in the area.
It's about a 45 minute drive to Jackson and only a bit longer to Teton Natl. Park. We felt very lucky to spend some time in this house and highly recommend it for families and friend get togethers.
Kitchen is equipped with pretty much everything you would need.
Great place
Place was perfect for us. Located centrally with what we wanted to do.👍👍
Comfortable and Homey
The Coulter Cabin was an awesome place to stay as we ventured out to discover the beautiful places nearby. It was nice to return to the cabin each day, as if we were coming home! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, great appliances, all the utensils, great pans, etc.
The thorough information folder left for us recommending restaurants, Huckleberry Milkshakes at the Emporium, etc was perfect. It was a great reference for us to discover our surroundings. We really enjoyed eating dinner on the deck and watching a beautiful sunset over the big Idaho sky. And our favorite restaurant was the Thai restaurant in Driggs. The Bison Pho was outstanding...wish I had some now!
Only one complaint--- no hair dryer! That's an easy fix.
Thanks Ginger for having such a nice place to rent. It's great escape from the city life!
great cabin
the cabin is located in a beautiful ranch surrounded by alpines which was peaceful. it was close to various national parks and we like it a lot.
it had fully equipped kitchen with great furniture. we highly recommend this cabin if anyone wants to go on a vacation to idaho
gopi
Beautiful place. We really enjoyed our stay while visiting the Teton's. Drigg's is such a neat town.
The house was very clean and well kept. We really enjoyed our stay.
Lovely cabin and location
Comfortable, well equipped "cabin" (with dishwasher, granite counter tops and HBO) in beautiful Idaho. We loved the view of four peaks from the valley. We hiked nearby and drove to Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Owner very responsive and gave wonderful recommendations for hiking and restaurants.
Beautiful well equipped property!
We had an amazing stay at this property. Everything was perfect for our stay and we were able to drive to Yellowstone twice and Jackson Hole twice. Great location near Driggs. Great little town with everything you need! Thank again for opening your home!
Peace and Quiet
We stayed at the Colter Cabin right after we got married for our honeymoon. We were very pleased with the location! It was so very quiet and didn't have to worry about hardly any traffic in the area. We thought we would spend more time in Yellowstone and the Jackson Hole area on the east side of the Tetons, but found so much to do in the little towns and Targhee National Forest on the west side that were so much less congested and relaxing. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who is traveling as a couple or even a couple of kids. The place was very clean and well kept. Thanks for your hospitality!
Simply magical and impeccably clean!!
This cabin is just incredible. The photos hardly do it justice! We loved the land it sat on, the cabin is beautifully decorated and so well kept! (Best housekeeper ever is right!!) The details in the cabin made it all the more charming. We stayed at another cabin later in our trip and kept comparing it to this one! We all said our only regret with this cabin was not booking it and staying longer! You won't be disappointed booking this amazing property.
Great spot for visiting Grand Teton and the Teton Valley
We had a wonderful stay at Colter Cabin. It was the perfect resting spot after a day of hiking and exploring the Teton Valley and Grand Teton National Park.
Beautiful Cabin in a Beautiful Location
We don't have a single complaint about our stay at the Horseshoe Cabin. The cabin itself was beautiful, the price was very reasonable and the location was even better off of a dirt road with lots of privacy! We enjoyed walking down the road to the pond and river nearby, and seeing all of the wildlife. It was also close enough to Jackson Hole so we were able to spend a day checking things out there. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area! We will definitely be back!
PEACE AND QUIET
ALL WE COULD ASK FOR AND MORE...BEAUTIFUL LOCATION AND PEACE AND QUIET ABUNDANT. WANTED FOR NOTHING!
Lovely little cabin in the woods
We loved it! In the forest on the Idaho side of the Tetons, away from the madness. We even saw a Moose with a calf in the yard. The nearby town of Driggs (pop. 1660) is a charming little town with everything you need and real friendly people. Its a short hop to the National Forest, again with few people around. It was the coolest part of the trip.
Beautiful and comfortable
The cabin was beautiful and we had a fantastic time. It is nestled away from the hustle and bustle and allows you to have a lot of quiet time. It's a wonderful place to stay
Incredible cabin to visit Jackson, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone
This cabin was everything we could have hoped for and more for our honeymoon. The location was perfect for visiting both the Jackson/ Grand Teton area as well as going up to Yellowstone. Check out their guest book and house manual for tons of great suggestions on places to eat, lots of places did off season 2 for 1 specials on meals and the parks were uncrowded. Rent a bike and check out the parks or go hiking in Targhee National Forest or one of the national parks.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Jim and Ginger on one of the last days there when they got back from a trip to Bend. If you get a chance to meet these fine folks, do it. They are a wealth of local knowledge and incredibly hospitable, we wish we could have hung out with them for a day or 2 in the area.
to sum it up, if your debating on whether to stay here...don't. You wont be disappointed by this cabin and this area.
Exceeded expectations
The Colter Cabin exceeded our expectations in every way.
Perfect!
That can was a perfect home away from home! Love the fireplace!

Amazing secluded cabin
I have nothing but good to say about this place! I will definitely be taking my family up next year!! I was sceptical at first because the price was so affordable for a 4 bed room. It's hard to tell from the pictures but this place was actually pretty luxurious. The kitchen is huge and has granite counters. It was very clean and well maintained. I got there in a car with 6 inches of snow on the ground but i would recommend having 4 wheel drive.
Your Hosts
Meet Ginger & Jimmy
We love this beautiful corner of Idaho and Wyoming, and we’ve owned this property since 2001. Ginger taught Montessori and elementary school for decades, while Jimmy worked for Jones Lang LaSalle. We owned and managed 3 short-term rentals in Cincinnati for 10 years with great reviews.
We listen to every guest comment because we want you to enjoy these wonderful cabins and this part of The West as much as we do. Both cabins are set up to be cozy and authentic, in keeping with the history and heritage of the area, and stocked so you won’t need a thing. You’ll find our guidebook of favorite restaurants, hikes and day trips inside, and we’re always a quick message away. Our favorite place, summer or winter, is right here in Wydaho. We look forward to your stay!
